As reported by News18, while speaking to the audience at the Friday event, Rajkumar Hirani revealed that he is juggling multiple projects related to Munna Bhai. The filmmaker stated, “I have five half-finished scripts for Munna Bhai. I spent six months on a script, reach the interval, and it just wouldn’t go beyond that. The ‘Dunki’ filmmaker – revealing the biggest challenge of crafting another Munna Bhai story, said, “The most important factor is that the next instalment has to get better than the previous films. About the franchise

The Munna Bhai franchise is one of the most iconic franchises in Indian cinema that blends humour, social commentary, and heartwarming storytelling beautifully. Written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the series kicked off in 2003 with Munna Bhai MBBS featuring Sanjay Dutt as the titular character and Arshad Warsi as his loyal sidekick, Circuit. It revolved around Munna, a Mumbai don who pretends to be a doctor to fulfil his father’s dreams. He then attends a medical college leading to tons of chaos that transforms the lives of many.

The success of this film led to the release of Lage Raho Munna Bhai. The sequel saw Dutt essay the role of a radio caller inspired by the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, popularizing the term ‘Gandhigiri’. Aside from Sanjay and Arshad, the film featured Vidya Balan as the film’s female lead.
